SAANVI'S POV:
I woke up around 7 in the morning and hit the gym for the day. By the time I was back, my phone started ringing and it was none other than my mumma, she's forcing me to come back home early for a puja at home in Delhi, which is tomorrow, but she needs me home by today. How should I explain to her that I have a very important client to deal with at 1p.m. today and I can't miss that?
Okay, I agree. I have not gone home for like 3 months.
My family misses me, so do I, but I have a business to run, and being one of the top designers in the country, it is not easy to get holidays even when I am the owner.
ON THE PHONE
Me: "Hi mumma, good morning"
Mumma:" Hii bachha, Good morning, so packing done for today?"
Me: "Yes, mumma, packing is done and I will be back home by night, so don't worry, I will not miss the puja, be chill."
Mumma: Okay then, I will make sure your room is ready. I miss you. Come fast and love you, Bachha.
Me: I love you too, mom, and miss you too, papa, and everyone.
CALL ENDS
Uff, finally done, and I did not think it would be so easy to convince her, but I am glad that she agreed, and yeah, now I am excited to meet everyone and spend some days with my family.
Okay, Saanvi, leave all this and let's get ready. You are getting late for the office.
I quickly get ready for the office and made my breakfast. It is 9:30 am when my assistant Khushi called me and told me that all the work for the meeting is done, and then we talked for the next few minutes, and then I left for the office .
I reached my office "Sunshine Limited," and everyone greeted me on the way to my cabin, and I passed everyone with a smile because, why not? I am not those types of bosses who are arrogant and rude to their employees .
I entered my cabin, and Khushi greeted me with my schedule for the day. I informed her to not keep any meetings for next week as I am traveling back home and will work from home and if anything urgent comes up, she can call me anytime. I also told her to take some rest, as after the meeting there is not much work for the next few days. She has been with me for the past 2 years, and she is one of the hardworking and creative people on the team.
She left and I started checking with the presentation for today and all the designs. We have been working on this client for the last 2 weeks and if we crack this client, then hopefully this year we might make it to the Paris fashion show with our own models and designs.
Soon it was the time of the meetings, and the meeting went for 2 hours but it was worth the time and efforts put in as we cracked the deal and we are so excited to work with Mrs. Dawson. She is one of the top designers in the world.
After the meeting, I got done with some other work for the day and it was finally time to go back home and catch the fight to get back to Delhi.
Soon it was 9 pm, and I was standing in front of MISHRA HOUSE, my home, where I was born and brought up. I left my house when I was 18 to pursue my dreams to become a fashion designer, and at the age of 23, I opened my brand which was my dream since childhood, Sunshine Limited. It took my hard work and my time to make it one of the top-selling clothing brands in India, affordable for both party wear and wedding wear. Originally, our brand was of traditional wear, but now we have diverse collection of apparels.
Now let's go and meet my crazy family
As soon as I entered the home, it was all dark. I shouted, Mummy, aap kha ho? papa? chachu? chachi? dadi? dadu? yeh koi Mazak h? light gayi h kya? Aapko pata tu h mujhe daar lagta h andhre se fir bhi?
("Mummy, where are you? Papa? Chachu? Chachi? Dadi? Dadu? Is this some kind of joke? Is the power out? You all know I’m scared of the dark, and still?")
Suddenly lights turn on and everyone shouts, welcome back home, Saanvi !
There's a cake on the table with party poppers. I feel so happy to see everyone. I go and hug everyone then we cut the cake together and i fed everyone a piece.
Now finally, after changing and freshening up, I sit with everyone to have my dinner which includes all my favorite dishes made by mom and chachi.
I teased my brothers a lot that mummy and chachi ne mere favorite dishes banye h tum dono ke tu nahi banaye.
After the dinner, everyone went back to their rooms as tomorrow we had a puja and then an event at night as it is 50th Anniversary of MISHRA CORPORATION. The company was started by my grandfather, after him my chachu and papa handled it and now my brother is handling it. I also had the option to work for the company but since the age of 10 I had dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, so I chose not to work in my family business.
Soon there was a knock on the door, and I knew who they were,my brother and my sister. Soon they entered, i hugged Aadhvik bhaiya, Lakshita and Piyush.
Aadhvik Bhaiya, who is two years older than me, has always been my savior. Whether it was Mumma's scoldings when we were younger or any situation now, he's always there to shield me. Currently, he holds the position of Executive Director in our company, a role he has earned solely through his dedication and hard work.
Lakshita and Piyush, on the other hand, are my partners in crime. The three of us used to plan mischievous things and irritate everyone around us. Even now, when we meet, it feels like nothing has changed, we still have so much fun together. Ten years ago, it was them, along with my family, who gave me the strength to smile again and try to move on.
Leaving all that its past now ,i guess i have moved on
We four talked, laughed, and watched our all-time favorite Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
It was late when the movie ended, and we decided to sleep, and everyone went back to their rooms, and I also drifted to sleep.
Author's Note:
As Saanvi is sleeping, time is unraveling a big shock or so we can call it a surprise for her. Will she able to handle it? Is she going to give in to her heart? Or She will turn a blind eye to her fate?
